In 2019 I founded Critical ThinkAR® — a political intelligence and advisory practice. The firm works with decision-makers, institutions, and organisations navigating complex political environments. I provide the analytical infrastructure to understand what is actually driving complexity beneath the surface of events — and the strategic and personal capacity to navigate it.
I did not start Critical ThinkAR® to build a consultancy. I started it to build something that would outlast any single engagement — an institutional home for a body of work that had been developing across two decades of practice.
As a scholar-practitioner, I do not separate the doing from the thinking. Over time, that posture produces not just experience but method — a rigorous, structured way of reading the world: political systems, institutions, and individual lives. These are not separate domains. They are different scales of the same question — how power, constraint, and agency operate, and what that means for those who must navigate them.
The gap I built this firm to close is not a gap in information. It is a gap in method. Most of what circulates as political analysis is commentary — description of events, of actors, of what happened and what might come next. It ages with the news cycle. Most institutional strategy is produced without a structural reading of the environment the institution is operating in. Most leadership development does not engage with the political and systemic conditions that shape what individual agency can actually do.
I built Critical ThinkAR® on a different conviction: that rigorous analysis — of systems, of institutions, of lives — starts with structure, not events. That it is not a talent. It is a practice. And that the practice can be built, taught, and institutionalised.
It came from intellectual conviction, not market opportunity.
The methodology and frameworks are not service offerings. They are a codified intellectual legacy being made accessible through an institutional vehicle.
The Academy is not a division. It is proof of concept — the founding intent made visible.
I built Critical ThinkAR® with three things in mind.
A platform to partner with clients — to accompany them through political complexity, institutional transformation, and personal development with the analytical infrastructure, strategic clarity, and leadership capacity the work demands.
A place to teach what I have built. The methodology is teachable. The frameworks are scalable. What took two decades to develop across practice — reading systems, reading institutions, reading individual lives — can be transmitted. And I intend to transmit it.
And a legacy. Something that does not depend on any organisation's invitation or any single contract. A body of work, at every scale, with an institutional home of its own.
The Critical ThinkAR® Academy is the clearest expression of why I built the firm. Not a training add-on — a founding intent made visible.
The methodology I have developed, tested, and refined over two decades is now being codified and made available as structured courses — for practitioners who need the contextual analytical grounding to read not just what is happening, but what is structurally producing it, at whatever scale they are working.
The Academy is what institutionalisation looks like when a practice is serious about legacy.
A practice built to last.
